Summary
AFL Engenharia is seeking a Cladding Process Engineer to join their team in Duncan, SC. The role involves designing, optimizing, and implementing industrial processes for fiber optic product manufacturing.
About the Role
As a Cladding Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting operations in achieving KPI targets, defining and monitoring process performance metrics, and using structured problem-solving methods. You will select and modify tooling, develop capital projects, and improve process documentation. Collaboration with R&D and Product Engineering Groups, designing shop floor layouts, and leading training plans are also key responsibilities. Additionally, you will identify and lead continuous improvement projects and interact with customers on technical topics.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent educational experience.
- 5 to 8 years’ experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, process development, new product introduction, or machine/equipment design and integration.
- Experience with wire drawing and cladding metal manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with MS Office Applications.
- Knowledge of ISO-9000 based quality systems.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AUTOCAD or other CAD software.
- Ability to read prints and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Preferred:
- Experience with fiber optic assembly and test methods.
- Experience leading project and/or self-directed work teams.
